Sacred Kigluait & Native Movement will host Ugluvik Action Camp: a place for developing skills around strategic, safe, and effective direct action tactics. This camp will have an entirely Indigenous training team from NDN Collective’s Action media team, Indigenous Peoples Power Project (IP3), and Native Movement.  

Below are some brief descriptions of the tracks participants can choose from. Because of the content of this camp, each applicant will be required to list a "community reference.” We are prioritizing participants who are trusted by and accountable to their community.

Participant travel scholarships will be available. 

Action Camp Tracks

Blockades: The blockades track introduces essential skills for occupying space, using technical tools & our own bodies with a focus on developing skills that will be useful in many environments. This track will focus on community safety and knowing our rights.

Creative Resistance Arts: This track is for those interested in learning how to make and use banners, screen prints, performative intervention, and a variety of other creative tools to produce effective images and messaging for use various ways. This track will discuss the importance of art, storytelling, and culture in everything we do.

Action Media: It’s time we take back our own narratives, tell our own stories about the issues our communities face and build solidarity across our movements. Participants in this track will develop skills in amplifying actions held by our communities that center stories from the frontlines. Learning social media tools, consent in the work, framing and messaging tips, action media planning and strategy all while knowing our legal rights.
