“As You Heal, We Heal.”

Native Movement’s leadership has recently articulated the below policy around harm. Humbly moving forward, we understand that we are ever growing and learning, we do not have all the answers, but also we do not have the time to wait for others to define our healing and our safety. We are committed to building protection for everyone in our communities and we are committed to finding a path forward through reconciliation when the time is right. This is our commitment to a healing path.

Native Movement Policy On Harm Caused:

Native Movement does not condone, excuse, or disregard threats, lateral violence, harm, or harassment (including but not limited to sexual harassment) caused against anyone, especially women, children, Elders, and LGBTQ2+ people. Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual violence and/or harassment against another person, under any life circumstance, is unacceptable. Harassment may include unwanted offensive or derogatory remarks, gestures, or physical contact of an offensive nature, as well as the display or circulation of derogatory materials or pictures. Perpetuating any such violence or harm will be grounds for removal from our leadership, including council, board, advisory, or staff. Native Movement’s process of reconciliation and restorative justice will be available, if and when commitments to that process can be made. Additionally, if a commitment to reconciliation is not made, or if commitments are continuously disregarded, we must make boundaries for safety. Our intention is always to keep people in our community and to bring people back into our community of care and leadership. We recognize each of us as essential parts of the universe and the fabric of our community, however, we will always prioritize safety.

“We are always willing to walk a healing path with those who are willing to pick up their work.”
